The one problem I had was how it did things, I had to re-learn all but the basics and am still learning. I used Soundforge for years, the free version that came with a sound card a long while back was marvellous, but Sony took them over and stopped that, forcing you to buy the full version costing hundreds, though they do now have Audio Studio at 40 which I havent tried and may be worth investigating.Įventually and several Windows iterations later, I had to give up on my old Soundforge lite but found Audacity to be a very capable replacement for it. It isnt free but when I bought mine some years ago it was quite inexpensive. Not only does it do all the necessary track splitting and cropping but allows you to clean all the clicks and pops and noise off. I had this problem when I upgraded to Windows 10 and reverted to Window 8.1 in consequence.

Wouldnt be without it, theres just a bit of an initial learning curve. Wavosaur will do it, and its easy to divide into separate files for each track. You simply locate the start of each section you want to divide into individual songs then mark and title them and once done tell it to export as multiple files. Not the most user friendly software,trying to split a recording into a few tracks isnt easy.
